How can text be transformed to express meaning?

Text can be used to expess meaning several different ways. If a text has a comic feel, or a cartoonish look, the meaning is cheerful. Straight, sharpedged text could represent action. Handwriting, curved text would represent elegance. The way a text is shown, big or small, bold or italicized, can represent different moods.

Why are Photoshop tools/effects used to transform simple text into creative text designs?

Photoshop offers many possibilities for transforming text, giving the designer a better result, and a quicker and simpler way of doing it. Tools such as the warp tool can be creatively used to match perspectives,the clipping mask makes the test actually part of an image, and the overlay option makes text feel "drawn" into the picture. There are many, many ways to creatively use text in photoshop.

How is creative text used in today's graphic designs?

We see creative text everyday, and we probably don't realize it. The text on a cereal box has been designed my someone who wanted that text to be creative and special. Text on posters has also been designed by someone who wanted the text to relate to the picture in the poster. On the road, billboards have text which has been designed to get your attention. Even the graffiti artists have thought gone into the text and how it's represented. Creatively designed text is everywhere around us.

The goal of this project was to match up to photos of the same location at day and night and adding an effective clipping mask with the text. I learned how to add a clipping mas onto an image and placing it on another image. I learned how to warp text to make it visually attractive. I know i'm successful because the two images of the Eiffel tower line up perfectly and the text gives it a special look.

The goal of this project was to bring out text with effects and blurring the background to make the text stand out. I learned how to add affects to text and making an advanced clipping mask and making the background seem in motion. I was successful in bringing out the text with effects and adding blurs to the background. I think it looks really good.

The goal of this card was to make text seem really part of the photo and making it as realistic as possible. I learned how to add perspective to text to make it line up with the dimensions of the image and adding an overlay. Even though this was challenging, I think was successful because the text i did seems engraved into the rock.

In this photo, I experimented with the clipping mask tool in Photoshop. I took a picture of one of my favorite cars, the Aston Martin DBS, and incorporated a word that showed meaning to that car, I could have use "beauty" or "soul", as they also have meaning in this car, but I chose "power" because it's manly.

In this exercise, I used advanced tools to make these great effects.

This was a simple exercise where I learned how to make creative text. You can make really cool shapes with text in Photoshop.

How are Hollywood black & white photos both similar and different today from throughout history?

They are similar because they all focused on one subject, like a persons face, or a dog.The images are focused and have the subject placed in the photo where it would look best. Some people like to turn modern photos into 1940' style, which look better.

Why are Photoshop tools & effects used to transform portraits?

Photoshop can do anything you want as long as you know how to use it. The possibilities are endless with the wide range of tools available in photoshop. With photoshop tools, you can highlight certain aspects or features in the image by making the background fuzzy, or putting a texture, or applying a layer mask. The things you can do with photoshop are endless!

How do designers express their mood and personality through use of tools and effects?

When designers are editing a photo, much emotion could be implemented inside the photo. A darkened image with dull colors might suggest the editor is depressed. A bright image with an array of vibrant colors might suggest that the editor is excited or very happy while editing the image. Designers can implement their emotion directly into the photo with the images they used in editing.

How do online tutorials vary in style and quality?

There are many tutorials out there on the internet, and each has a different theme and quality. A tutorial will vary because of the person who created the tutorial. An experienced photoshop person will create a much higher quality tutorial than a person who is still new to photoshop. They vary also in the mood and emotions of the person who created the tutorial.

In this photo, the goal was to make a "heroic" pose by blending images, using color overlay, and using fills. I learned hot to add a gradient overlay to certain parts of the photo, how to blend other images inside a photo, and learned to use new text and brush tools. I know I was successful in this image because of the way it looks and used the new things I've learned.

In this photo, the goal was to create a water paint style. The other goal was to master the use of filters. I learned how to add watermark textures and backgrounds. I learned how to use layers and add a crazy hairstyle. I learned hot precisely select portions of pictures using the pen tool. I learned how to add special textures in objects. I think I succeeded in this image because the result was a wild, water paint hair style. I mastered the use of layers.

In this photo, the goal was to create a "pop star" style image with layers and fills. I learned how to create certain shapes in the background, how to fill images, and how to manage layers. I succeeded because I implied all the new skills i learned to create this great image, which to me, is better that the one they made in the tutorial. I mastered the use of layers.

What are various types of digital images and how are high and low resolutions used in different situations?

There are many types of digital images using high and low resolution quality. High resolution gives you a more satisfying image, but a low resolution gives you more things to edit and more opportunities for improvement.

Today, digital images are essential in graphic design. Images are edited and put in magazines, newspaper, TV, and so on. The graphic design world is based on digital images.

In Photoshop, there are many tools to improve pictures. Crop tools, transform tools, brush and blur tools along with many more are used for photo enhancement. Photoshop offers a tool for your every need.

This was one of the worst photos I have ever seen. It's colors ere so dull and light that it made me sick. The photographer didn't take consideration in the amount of light going in and brightness while taking the photo. My goal was to improve the color of the sea and the sky while bringing out the city skyline. I learned how to bring out the colors of specific things and darkening them as well. I know that I was successful in this image by completing my goals. This is now one of the best images of Kuwait City I have ever seen.

When I saw this picture, I thought it was horrible. Nothing stood out, it was bad quality, and the colors were really bad. My goal for this photo was to bring out the main object so much that you wouldn't even notice the horrible background. I learned how to change the colors of the background into greyscale and the main object into vibrant colors. I think I was very successful in doing this, and I think it looks great!

The goal of this project was to get familiar with Adobe Photoshop and enhance 3 photos that need it. I learned new skills while enhancing this dull, light photo, like making things stand out by editing the color and enhancing the dull background color into something more appropriate. I think I was most successful with bringing out the colors and intensity of the main object (VW Golf GTi) and making it stand out with darker colors.

1) Where do we see graphic design?

Everywhere we look, we see graphic design. From the signs we see on the road to the blog we read every morning. It has been designed. All our homes have been designed by somebody for the purpose of either practicality, function, or beauty. Same story with our cars. Every website we see is also designed by some one. Graphic design is everywhere.

2) What are the various forms of graphic design?

There are several forms of graphic design. Print designs are any graphic design designed on anything from books, to cardboard boxes. Including printed designs on objects creates an attractive look or functionality to the object.

3) What tools are used in creating graphic designs? 

Graphic designers use a verity of different computer programs to create their design. Professionals use programs like the Adobe Suit or CorelDRAW software. Although, students can use free software like these:
