Welcome to a blog packed with Photoshop artwork!

What are the similarities and differences between vector and raster graphics and how they are used in graphic design?

The difference between vector and raster graphics is the quality. In vector graphics, images are made up of connected points that form together to create an image. If you try to resize that image, it's no problem because the points just resize and fill in the space. However, raster graphics are made of pixels and that means that if and image is resized or modified, pixels will be lost, which will lead to tremendous loss of picture quality. Vector and raster graphics are similar in the fact that they both have parts that work together to create an image. They are used in graphic design based on their purposes. If you are drawing a cartoon or designing a logo, vector graphics in Illustrator is the program to go for. But, if you are simply editing a photo, raster graphics used in Photoshop is the obvious choice.

How is Adobe Illustrator similar to and different from Adobe Photoshop?

The previous question leads me neatly into the subject of the differences and similarities of Photoshop and Illustrator. Both have similar tools. Both have drawing capabilities. Both allow text graphics. And, with an experienced user, both can be used to design comics and logos. Get really experienced on both, though, and you'll notice that they are both different worlds. In Illustrator, your imagination for creation is not limited. You options of creating exactly the design you want to make are there when you need them. It is really easy once you get used to it and you can create what you imagine. On Photoshop, though, you are limited. Poor drawing tools, like lack of anchor points, limit the possibilities of your plans and designs. But Photoshop isn't meant to draw pictures. It is supposed to be used for photo editing, hence the name "Photoshop".

How are logos a form of visual communication for the business, organization, or product they represent?

Logos play a crucial role in representing your company or organization. Often, they are the first thing a person sees upon learning about you company, so it's actually their first impression. Have a logo too complicated and crowded, and then it just looks ugly and confusing. Have a logo too simple and meaningless and it will be useless. Have an elegant, simple logo which clearly represents your intent or products, and you'll be successful and your company will rise. Logos are one of the very things that point out what the company is like.

In this project the goal was to create a logo for an imaginary company or organization, and incorporating new skills learned in Adobe Illustrator. I learned many new things while using Adobe Illustrator. I learned the benefits of anchor points and how they work together to make shapes. I learned to create complex lines and gradients and learned how to apply creative text effects to create an elegant, smooth design. I was most successful in making the design as simple and as elegant as possible, but still kept important meaning into the logo.

How can text be transformed to express meaning?

Text can be used to expess meaning several different ways. If a text has a comic feel, or a cartoonish look, the meaning is cheerful. Straight, sharpedged text could represent action. Handwriting, curved text would represent elegance. The way a text is shown, big or small, bold or italicized, can represent different moods.

Why are Photoshop tools/effects used to transform simple text into creative text designs?

Photoshop offers many possibilities for transforming text, giving the designer a better result, and a quicker and simpler way of doing it. Tools such as the warp tool can be creatively used to match perspectives, the clipping mask makes the test actually part of an image, and the overlay option makes text feel "drawn" into the picture. There are many, many ways to creatively use text in photoshop.

How is creative text used in today's graphic designs?

We see creative text everyday, and we probably don't realize it. The text on a cereal box has been designed my someone who wanted that text to be creative and special. Text on posters has also been designed by someone who wanted the text to relate to the picture in the poster. On the road, billboards have text which has been designed to get your attention. Even the graffiti artists have thought gone into the text and how it's represented. Creatively designed text is everywhere around us.

The goal of this project was to match up to photos of the same location at day and night and adding an effective clipping mask with the text. I learned how to add a clipping mas onto an image and placing it on another image. I learned how to warp text to make it visually attractive. I know i'm successful because the two images of the Eiffel tower line up perfectly and the text gives it a special look.

The goal of this project was to bring out text with effects and blurring the background to make the text stand out. I learned how to add affects to text and making an advanced clipping mask and making the background seem in motion. I was successful in bringing out the text with effects and adding blurs to the background. I think it looks really good.

The goal of this card was to make text seem really part of the photo and making it as realistic as possible. I learned how to add perspective to text to make it line up with the dimensions of the image and adding an overlay. Even though this was challenging, I think was successful because the text i did seems engraved into the rock.

In this photo, I experimented with the clipping mask tool in Photoshop. I took a picture of one of my favorite cars, the Aston Martin DBS, and incorporated a word that showed meaning to that car, I could have use "beauty" or "soul", as they also have meaning in this car, but I chose "power" because it's manly.

What's is this blog about?!

Hello, and welcome to my blog. My name is Izzat and I'm a student currently studying graphic design. Editing photos in Photoshop is one of my hobbies, and so is automotive design. It is my dream to be an automotive designer, and I feel graphic design is a good way to start. This blog will serve as a portfolio for me, so you will see many examples of my work in the time coming. My goal for this blog is to get feedback on the work that I have created. The work that I do will all have a common theme; creativity, passion, and a great deal of color. I thank you for taking a look in this blog, and I hope you enjoy the work that I'll post! Please feel free to leave comments, as it is highly appreciated.
